There are two main beaches in this area, one of which is referred to as ‘Damien’s’ or ‘D One’; both are common areas for camping, with nearby rivers flowing into the ocean. Blanchisseuse is also a popular choice for hiking, with trails leading to an adjacent waterfall, a rain forest and kayaking along a river. Additionally, good surfing conditions exist, with turtle-watching and bird-watching taking place throughout the year. Although secluded in location, Blanchisseuse is a popular weekend getaway for Trinbagonians, with quite a few holiday homes and guesthouses to provide the necessary accommodation.
