On the westernmost tip of Tobago next to Crown Point Airport’s runway stands the ancient Fort Milford, where merely a few forts and crumbling walls remain. This military establishment was constructed by the British in 1777, occupied by the French in 1781 and retaken by the British in 1781. Remnants of the site and other relics were as a result of restructuring which was done by the British in 1811 or thereabouts. Walls built of cut coral limestone and six canons comprise the fort remnants.
