Blue Basin is a picturesque waterfall and pool on the Diego Martin River, which is surrounded by lush, tropical vegetation. Located about nine miles from Port-of-Spain, this waterfall can be reached by driving to an area close to it, and walking for five minutes along a bridle path.

The road goes up a steep incline near the waterfall, with parking available at the base of the incline. There are also two bathing pools known as ‘Dougla Pools’, located close to this point, near the road on the right. By following the river upstream from these two pools, the waterfall can be reached. An alternative route to take is by walking up the incline and following a path on the right, which leads to the waterfall.

Tips: We highly recommend a tour guide, due to its proximity to a relatively unsafe neighborhood.
